Napali Paddle

The Napali Coast on Kauai's North Shore in Hawaii is known for its sheer beauty, rugged coastline, white beaches, turquoise waters, tall 4000ft vertical cliffs, deep caves, endless waterfalls, long tunnels, green sea turtles, dolphins and endless beauty. Much of the Napali Coast is inaccessible due to its characteristic sheer cliffs that drop straight down, thousands of feet into the ocean.

On the 2nd July 2011 great friends Michelle Jackson (Kauai) and Sue Sheard (Australia) paddled the 17mile/27km stretch on Stand Up Paddleboards. I was so grateful to have had this amazing opportunity.

On April 24th 2010, great mates Sue Sheard (Australia) and Michelle Jackson (Kauai) once again competed in the Maui to Molokai 25 Mile (40 km) SUP Relay Race. This year we were accompanied by two more great friends on an OC1, Mindy Clark (California) & Beryl "Danielle" Lemo also of Australia. 2009 Australian Distance Titles

I completed in the Australian Distance SUP Titles in December 2009 but with little success. After paddling for over 1.5 hrs I had to pull out due to equipment failure. Here's a vid of the race and a quick glimpse of me before the trouble started.

The Aussies 2009 Battle of the Paddle Team Relay Race

On 4th October 2009, Team Lahui Kai of Australia won the International SUP Teams Relay Race at the Battle of the Paddle Festival at Dana Point in California. Team members included James "Billy" Watson, Jamie Mitchell, Shakira Westdorp and Danny Sheard. Here is my video of their race...enjoy !

Hervey Bay SUP Race 2009

In August 2009, the first race of the Australian OC1 Outrigger Series in South East Queensland at Hervey Bay included SUP. Rob Pirie filmed the race and put this video together.
